Building a minibike frame. How thick should the axle weldments be?
I have ready access to 0.187" thick steel but I've read that I should use 0.25" thick instead..
Question is..
Can I use the .187" material and have a sturdy weldment for the axles?
I'm not buying a prefab frame because it's 50% cheaper for me to build one from scratch. ..and I like the CAD practice.
get yourself some 1/4 inch plate, I wouldn't recommend using the 3/16 plate that you have even if you welded them together to make it thicker they would still be weaker then the 1/4 plate
