NCAA Tournament Odds - West Region Preview

The Blue Devils are the #1 seed in the West region and preferred in March Madness lines. The reigning national winners don’t have a cakewalk to the Final 4 though as San Diego State, Connecticut and Texas are the other top seeds in that region.  Here is a check out the top seeds in the West and the first round matches in March Madness betting.

 

(1) Duke

The Blue Devils are the reigning champions and they've one of the leading players in the nation in Nolan Smith. They also have got Kyle Singler and they could get Kyrie Irving back for the competition.

 

(2) San Diego State

The Aztecs look like the best #2 seed in the NCAA Competition. They lost just two contests this season and easily might have been a #1 seed.  San Diego State has one of the leading players in the country in Kawhi Leonard.

 

(3) Connecticut

The Huskies caught fire in the Big East Tournament and they've an excellent player in Kemba Walker. They're overrated though as they were still just a .500 squad in the Big East this year.

 

(4) Texas

The Longhorns were a great team earlier this year and a possible number one seed. They lost three of their last 6 contests though and come into the competition as a wild card.  Texas has a quite good competitor in Jordan Hamilton and they've an seasoned coach in Rick Barnes.

 

1st Round Matches

(1) Duke versus (16) Hampton - The Blue Devils ought to be able to name the score in their opening competition.

 

(8) Michigan vs (9) Tennessee - This should be an fantastic matchup between two teams that may give Duke some trouble in the subsequent round. 

 

(5) Arizona versus (12) Memphis - The Wildcats have among the best participants in the country in Derrick Williams and they ought to give up Memphis who's lucky to be in the competition whatsoever.

 

(4) Texas versus (13) Oakland - The Texas Longhorns have lots of expertise but this is a difficult matchup versus an Oakland squad that averages over 85 points per competition and performed a tough schedule.

 

(6) Cincinnati versus (11) Missouri - The Bearcats are not receiving much value in this match is in fact a pick in March Madness lines at the sportsbook.

 

(3) Connecticut vs (14) Bucknell - This isn't a slam dunk for Connecticut as Bucknell has NCAA Tournament knowledge.

 

(7) Temple vs (10) Penn State - Neither squad does much on offense yet they can both play defense.

 

(2) San Diego State vs (15) Northern Colorado

The Aztecs should roll in this match versus the Big Sky champs in NCAA March Madness betting.
