Power Balance Bracelets Can Provide Increased Balance
Power Balance is a particular make of wristband which was developed by using a rubber band using a holographic sticker applied. The idea behind the device was that it would provide energy and good balance to anyone who wore it by using hologram therapy, which is part of energy medicine. Specifically this treatment therapy is utilized to enhance athletic performance.
The hologram therapy is growing in recognition as alternative holistic medical techniques have taken hold. Those who wear them fervently believe that they're receiving special powers from the holistic, spiritual therapy. The practice has triggered concern with many governments regarding truth in marketing. They've required that tests be run to back up the claims, otherwise fines would be levied against the maker.
The controversy over Power Balance wristbands increased as more and more famous sports athletes became proponents. In 2010, tests were run throughout the Olympics using a double blind test to learn if the holograms were truly supplying special energy and balance that would enhance the performance of the athletes. On two of the bands, the sticker was removed and all bands were taped so nobody might know which ones contained the holograms.
The tests were conclusive in that not one of the players wearing the hologram devices could increase their overall performance anymore compared to those that were putting on the bands which had the stickers removed. In Australia, the customer protection commission required PowerBalance to issue a statement admitting they had provided misleading information regarding the performance enhancement abilities.
While the assessments proved conclusive to skeptics that only wearing holographic items would not enhance a person’s performance, the issue continues to be the red hot topic since the idea behind the devices are associated with an individual’s spiritual values.
There were tests done regarding player improving performance too, with results that demonstrated that hard work was the reason for the enhanced levels of performance. Because the tests were designed to test if the hologram itself provided the performance, an argument can be created that the tests were skewed against the Power Balance wristband since it wasn't tested by spiritual believers. As with tests of the power of prayer, the results often show improvements because those involved believe in the activity and its power.
The issue of the Power Balance and hologram treatment therapy is guaranteed to continue to be controversial, especially because so many high profile triathletes and famous people wear holographic jewelry very openly. The challenge over advertising as a unit that could enhance strength, flexibility and balance is apparently settled for now.
There are two standard ideologies, people who feel and those who do not. Even though this design of renewable power therapy is frequently viewed as on the edge, there has to be something to it since so many people subscribe to its power and freely admit to wearing the jewelry for the therapeutic purposes.
