How can I make my own sign with stencil letters?
I am basically trying to make a small sign on clear plastic. How can I paint on perfect looking letters? I assume that I would have to use stencil letters; what kind of paint do I use? Brush? Markers?
A little more specifics:
A very small sign; less than 1 feet long.
Since you're doing this on clear plastic and using stenciled letters, I would suggest using spray paint. Make your stencil out of some heavy duty paper (poster board works well) and you can x-acto knife your letters out, or you can cut apart some already made stencils and tape them together to make your sign. Then get some tacky glue (the stuff that remains sticky and won't actually adhere permanently and apply the stencil to your plastic. Take it outside and make sure all the parts you don't want painted are covered up, and then spray a light layer of paint on. Let it dry. And Repeat until you get a good looking coat. Let it dry completely before taking the stencil off
