What is a shop liability in case of poor set up of goods?
a fridge almost fell on my kid because it was not fixed to the ground, the manager was saying i should control my kid. but he only opened a fridge, and when i opened it it moved out of place as well. surely a shop must be responsible for health and safety of the customers? he was rude and did not apologise.
Any occupier of premises is obliged to take reasonable care for the safety of persons who are visitors to their premises (s.3 OLA 1957), to prevent injury.
On the facts above, the shop may be in potential breach of the Act, but it's not immediately apparent why the fridge in the shop needs to be fixed to the ground. Is the fridge in your house fixed to the ground?.
As no-one was injured, you have no legal redress. You could report the shop to Trading Standards if you thought there was a real problem, but don't be surprised if they are uninterested.
