Is Golf Course Design Important in a Golf Estate?
A well designed course has a mixture of difficult and less difficult holes to provide a reasonable challenge for average golfers. While every golfer would like to take a shot at PGA Tour-caliber courses the reality is that a well-designed course will define the success or failure of a game. With a wide range of real estate builders providing Golf Estate a common man's dream to play golf has come true.
So when looking at the design of the golf course it is important to look for five important elements to make the entire experience for the golfer challenging as well as enjoyable. The course determines the choices a golfer makes and ultimately the end result of winning or losing. Some of those decisions have to do with strategies, the swing and what type of club to use for each.
The first thing to take into consideration on the golf course is the teeing ground. This is the place where the first stroke is taken for individuals holes. The ground should be leveled to make the best shoot towards the fairway or the green. The majority of golf courses identify the tee box or area with color marks. There are no specific rules that specify how many or what colors they should be but the standard found in most courses is often green for more skilled professional golfers because it has more yardage. Courses usually have straight paths and some have sharp turns called doglegs that make it more difficult to play. The green is the goal for the golfer and the nightmare of golf course groundskeepers. Each degree of slope and grass height determines the difference in the game. Usually the hole is placed near the center of an oval shaped area.
Finally the last two things to look for when looking at the design of the course are the hazard and rough areas. Obviously the hazards are the places designed to intrude in the golfer's game they could be ponds, bunkers, sand areas and places with plants that make it difficult to play. The rough area as the previous one is also design to make it difficult for the player they are the surroundings of the teeing areas, fairways and greens. There you will find lush vegetation, tall trees and long grass that will definitely interpose in any given game.
