The New Nokia X5 With Cutting Edge Design
Casting your eyes over the current range of mobile handsets available, most device to tend to look similar, however one or two stand out thanks to variations on the traditional design.
One such model is the Nokia X5, a phone that still offers excellent features, yet in an altogether different looking square chassis. If one of the main uses of your handset is for accessing the web or e mail usage, then the Nokia X5 is the perfect model for you thanks to a great range of connectivity options. Looking across the models specification, two things really standout and that is the WiFi and 3G facilities. WiFi still offers the best online experience available, however usage of this system is limited as you do need to be on a personal network or have access to a public one. Thus 3G is perhaps a more sought after option, connecting to the service offering the fastest data transfer exchanges rates that you can achieve whilst on the go. Even coverage for this system is not 100%, so alternatives are available in the form of EDGE and GPRS. Such a comprehensive range of options help make the X5 an excellent phone for both messages and e mails. The phone sports a good quality full Qwerty keypad which makes the composition of text an easy task. E Mails are received in real time thanks to the push notification system, whilst reading messages is simple thanks to the unified inbox bringing together several different accounts. A shake of the handset and you can instantly read any unopened messages. If you are sending an e mail, taking a photograph or uploading video, you can be assured of a speedy response thanks to Nokia incorporating a 600Mhz processor in this model, which despite being less than the 1Ghz found on many new models such as the Samsung Omnia 7, is still ample for this device.
The developers of this phone have obviously spent some time on the design of this model, and as a result the Nokia X5 looks unlike any other phone you are likely to encounter. Thanks to the square design, the X5 is sure to turn heads and gain admiring glances, but this is not at the expense of comfort. The 74.3 x 66.4 mm shape is as close to a square as you are likely to find, and as a result of this it sits perfectly in the palm of your hand. The depth of the unit however is slightly more of an issue at 16.9mm, however it does redeem itself slightly by hiding away a keypad within its frame. There is a relatively small internal storage capacity of just 200MB on this model, but a micro SD card slot does allow up to a further 32GB to be added, with a 2GB card supplied in the box. Camera wise there is a 5 mega pixel camera on the phone which can also capture VGA video footage.. The Nokia X5 fulfills its brief as a fashion phone, but goes beyond the call of duty by offering facilities that would be equally as at home on a low end smartphone such as the HTC Wildfire.
