what does it mean when someone says it is an over hosel putter shaft?
Pretty much just what it says - the shaft fits over the hosel of the club. Most modern putters the shaft is offset from the clubface but 25 years ago and more the shaft was in line with the face and most were "over the hosel". At the time the term didn't exist that I recall, (I've been playing since 1962) because all putters were like that. Now that most are offset they have come up with a term for the older style.
