does a west facing mountain get much sun?
Im trying to figure out why where black hill in the wicklow mountains got its name. I figured, seeing as there is also a white hill on the other side, that maybe the sun shines less there so it is dark, hece the name black hill? Your thoughts?
Two possibilities for why it got its name.
1) It was first seen and named by someone whose name was Black.
2) A west facing mountain will be in sunlight in the afternoon, but in shade, and therefore dark in color, in the morning. Maybe the person who named it saw it in the morning.
