Golf Accessories Defined

Golf accessories are NOT golf clubs.  Within my definition of golf accessories you will not find golf bags either.  And when I talk golf accessories, I am not talking about the car!  It's the outdoor sport of golf that we're talking about here.  Everyone has their own personal favorites list, particularly golfers when it comes to their golf accessories.

Okay, so I've described what golf accessories are NOT.  So within my definition, EVERYTHING ELSE would be considered golf accessories.  Simple, huh!

Why Golf Accessories

Let's be frank.  Golf is supposed to be a game that is fun and enjoyable.  It is also a competitive sport -- whether you're competing against yourself or a few fellow players.  To these ends golf accessories facilitate your enjoyment and pleasure of the game.  Some golfers sincerely believe that golf accessories can put a player in the mindset and frame to win.  And who doesn't like to win a round of golf.  Okay, every round of golf ;-) !

Golf Accessories Top 10

1.  Golf Ball Storage -- This is simple and practical.  When it comes to golf accessories, this is my top pick.  You really do need something to put your golf balls in.  Right now, the golf ball storage sack called MySack is getting a lot of interest.

2.  Cigar Holder -- Okay, if you don't enjoy a good cigar while playing, you can skip this one.  But I do.  And a lot of other golfers do, too.  One of the reasons I think this is so is because of convenience to the out of doors away from a confined space at home.  In other words, we can smoke our cigar and not get in trouble.  There are a number of different options here that range from a clip to a device that is designed to rest your cigar on.

3.  Brush -- I like to have a shoe brush handy.  There's also such a thing as a dual brush that serves several purposes.

4.  Golf Bag Cooler -- If you're playing, you're going to be playing on some hot days.  This is a wonderful invention in the golf accessories category.  There are an increasing variety of options available in all different sizes and price points.  This is one thing I would not do without.

5.  Golf Bag Travel Case --  Today they're selling hard sticks that go in the bag as well as hard and soft cases to hold your golf bag filled with clubs.  Travel just once without a decent travel case and let the baggage crew for your favorite airlines destroy one or more of your favorite clubs (by accident of course), and you'll pop for one of these.  Do your own research as to which suits you best.  But if you travel at all...even once a year or so...with your own clubs, this is a must have golf accessories item.

6.  Valuables Pouch -- Rings or watch bothering you?  Disrupting your playing and concentration?  You need something to put 'em in.  One of these works.

7.  Golf Towel -- I love the micro-fiber golf towels.  Enough said.

8.  Golf Bag Rain Hood -- Just in case you get caught out in the elements, which will probably happen, it sucks to not have one of these and have to dump rainwater out of your beautiful leather bag.  So do the Boy Scout thing:  Be prepared.

9.  Cart Seat -- I'm telling you, these things don't cost that much and they're way cool.  Plus, they work.  And if your knees suck and you're on a coarse with no carts, you can sit whenever you need to.  Okay, I'm gonna stop before I say too much.

10.  Smaller Bag -- On some pitch and put courses where you don't want to lug your complete bag, you need a smaller bag.  There are several good ones out there like The Golfer's Buddy.

Okay, I'm done.  That's my list and I'm proud of it.  Hey, don't forget golf balls.  Within my definition they fit in the golf accessories category.
